Robyn Zerebecki (PI)
I am a marine community ecologist who is broadly interested in understanding the causes and consequences of biodiversity. I have conducted research across a variety of coastal ecosystems including subtidal fouling communities and seagrass beds. Currently I am focused on understanding the role of intraspecific variation (genotypic and phenotypic) in Spartina alterniflora, the dominant plant species in salt marshes throughout the southeastern US. I use a combination of field surveys, molecular genetics, and laboratory and field experiments to address several ecological and evolutionary questions.
I have started as an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisiana - Lafayette in the Biology Department in Fall 2023.
And I am looking for a Masters and/or PhD student to start in Fall 2025.
I am also looking for UL undergrads interested in gaining research experience
(field, greenhouse or lab) working with marsh plants to join the lab.
If interested, please contact me via email!
